Lee Mi Joo of Lovelyz has found herself at the center of unexpected dating rumors — but her agency was quick to clear things up.
On July 25, her agency Antenna officially denied the rumors connecting her to baseball player Lee Jin Young, stating, “The rumor about Lee Mi Joo and Lee Jin Young is not true. They don’t even know each other.”
The rumor started on online communities after fans noticed that the lighting in a photo posted by Lee Jin Young, thanking fans for his birthday wishes, looked similar to the one seen in Lee Mi Joo’s home. That was enough to spark dating suspicions online.
The buzz came just months after Lee Mi Joo ended her relationship with football player Song Beom Geun, who is three years younger than her. Naturally, fans grew curious again about her current relationship status — but her agency firmly called it all a misunderstanding.
Interestingly, Lee Mi Joo has recently been speaking more openly about her love life on YouTube.
In a video uploaded on July 11, she gave a house tour and casually shared, “It’s been a long time since I cooked. I haven’t had a boyfriend in a while, so I don’t cook anymore.” The comment made it clear: she’s single for now.
Just a week later, in another video on July 18, she visited a fortune-telling café. The fortune teller talked about her future love life, saying, “Your husband should be kind, talk well, and be funny. Even someone a bit like a player — in a good way — would be good.”
When the word “player” was mentioned, Lee Mi Joo visibly flinched and laughed, hinting she might’ve caught the double meaning (athlete vs. flirt). The fortune teller went on to say, “Your luck with men hasn’t been great so far. Didn’t you date someone last year?”
Lee Mi Joo answered honestly, “Yes, I did last year. But not anymore.” When told she seems to always break up in the winter or around February to March, she joked, “When did I break up again? Please check the article for me.”
