Actress Park Gyu Young has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress in the drama category at the 2025 Gold Derby TV Awards—a big moment following her global recognition from The Times and ELLE India.

On July 15, the 2025 Gold Derby TV Awards announced that Park Gyu Young, who plays an intense and emotional role in Squid Game seasons 2 and 3, was officially listed as one of the top nominees.

The awards are a U.S.-based ceremony known for highlighting the most buzz-worthy dramas, TV movies, and variety shows of the year, making this a major achievement for the actress.

Park Gyu Young played the role of No Eul, a Pink Guard in Squid Game. No Eul is a North Korean defector and former soldier who becomes a guard to search for her missing daughter.

She wasn’t a player in the deadly games, but instead helped run them—offering fans a totally different view of the Squid Game world.

Her character is tough, full of emotion, and even goes against her fellow guards to stick to her beliefs, especially when confronting a commander involved in organ trafficking.

Her powerful performance didn’t go unnoticed. The UK’s The Times praised Park Gyu Young as a rising star and one of the key female leads in season 3 of Squid Game.

Not only that, but ELLE India featured her on their cover—making her the first Korean actress ever to be given that honor.

Park is up against other strong nominees including Kang Ae Sim (also from Squid Game), Carrie Coon (The White Lotus), and Catherine LaNasa (The Pit).

The winners of the 2025 Gold Derby TV Awards will be announced on August 18, and fans are already rooting for Park to take home the prize.
