Actors Park Bo Young and Park Jin Young are melting hearts with their sweet and natural chemistry—on and off screen!
The two stars recently teamed up for a couple pictorial with Elle magazine following the finale of their drama The Midnight Romance in Hagwon (Unknown Seoul), which ended on June 29. The photoshoot had a warm and romantic vibe, and both actors impressed the staff with their effortless chemistry and professional poses.
After the shoot, the two sat down for a heartfelt interview, where they opened up about their drama, their characters, and working together.
When asked how she felt after finishing the series, Park Bo Young shared, “Someone wrote a review and their words really touched me. They said, ‘From an unknown Seoul, to the Seoul of Mi Ji, and in that Seoul, they find their future.’ I found that very moving.”
As for their chemistry, Park Jin Young had nothing but praise for his co-star. “Bo Young noona has such a unique energy. Because of that, my reactions changed naturally. So we clicked from the very beginning,” he said.
Park Bo Young, who played the dual roles of Mi Ji and Mi Rae (which also means “future” in Korean), reflected on how she relates to her characters. “I wish I had more of Mi Ji’s bold and cheerful side,” she said. “But lately, I feel like I’ve become more like Mi Rae—quiet and calm.”
Park Jin Young also opened up about his role as Ho Soo, a character struggling with hearing issues and deep emotional scars. “I thought a lot about how to make it feel real. Everyone has pain—things they can’t say or want to hide. Ho Soo’s pain was just more visible,” he shared. “When I acted, I tried to approach it through small, everyday feelings.”
The actors also picked out the lines that stayed with them the most from the drama. Park Bo Young chose a quote from the grandmother character: “Anything you do to survive is brave.” Park Jin Young picked a touching line from Se Jin’s grandfather: “Why do you have to go all the way to the final stop? If you want to get off, you can.” He explained, “It felt like it was saying the journey matters the most, and that really stayed with me.”
With their strong acting, emotional depth, and heart-fluttering chemistry, Park Bo Young and Park Jin Young left a lasting impression on viewers—and now, fans can’t wait to see what they’ll do next.
