On the July 12 broadcast of MBC’s variety show The Manager (Episode 355), Jo Yuri made a guest appearance and opened up about her role in the upcoming Netflix hit Squid Game Season 3
As excitement grows around the new season, rumors began swirling about her pay — with one article claiming she received a massive 4.2 billion won (around $3 million USD) appearance fee.
However, Jo Yuri quickly cleared things up with a laugh, saying, “There was actually an article that said I was paid 4.2 billion won, but that’s really not true. It’s much lower.”
What really stole the spotlight, though, was her sweet relationship with her mother. When asked if she gives her mom an allowance, Jo Yuri revealed something even more touching. “I share my payment account with my mom,” she said. “We even know the password together.”
The cast was completely surprised, with one MC exclaiming, “That’s way more than an allowance!” Jo Yuri smiled and added, “But actually, my mom doesn’t really spend the money much.”
