Park Bo Gum was left stunned on the latest episode of his music talk show after discovering a massive age gap between himself and a rookie idol from HITGS!
On the July 11 episode of KBS 2TV’s The Seasons – Park Bo Gum’s Cantabile, a special “Passion UP” segment aired, featuring guests who are full of energy and dreams. Among them was the rising 5th-generation girl group HITGS, who had only debuted 72 days prior to the recording.
HITGS took the stage with their performance of ‘Charisma’, showing off powerful rookie energy and wowing the crowd. After their performance, the members introduced themselves in cheerful high-pitched voices and explained the meaning behind their group name:
“We’re a group that tells the story of girls who are both hip and pure.”
But what really caught attention was when member Lee Yu revealed her birth year—2010.
Hearing that, Park Bo Gum's jaw practically dropped as he reacted,
“I debuted in 2011… You were just one year old! Do you even know who I am?”
His shocked expression and playful question had the whole audience laughing.
To add to the sweet and funny moment, Lee Yu mentioned that her Japanese mother is a huge fan of Park Bo Gum, making the actor beam. She said,
“I personally want to say something to Park Bo Gum sunbaenim. You’re very famous in Japan, and my mom really likes you.”
In response, Park Bo Gum touched hearts by delivering a special message in Japanese:
“Lee Yu’s mother, thank you for sending me love and support.”
Though his Japanese was a little clumsy, the message was full of warmth and earned big cheers and applause from the audience.
