Lee Jong Suk is back on the small screen—and viewers are already hooked!
On July 5, tvN’s brand-new weekend drama ‘Law and the City’ made its highly anticipated premiere, and it started off strong.
The first episode recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 4.6%, with peaks hitting 5.4%, according to Nielsen Korea. In the Seoul metropolitan area, it scored even higher at 4.8%, peaking at 5.9%.
The show not only topped its time slot across cable and general programming channels, but also ranked No.1 among tvN’s target audience—men and women aged 20 to 49—beating even the major broadcast networks.

Marking Lee Jong Suk’s transformation into a tired but sharp lawyer, the drama takes place inside the fictional legal zone known as “Law and the City”, where several law firms operate under one roof.

The series follows the daily lives of hardworking associate lawyers who juggle long hours, tricky cases, and complicated relationships.
Episode 1 introduced the main team of lawyers and gave viewers a taste of the show’s warm tone and realistic workplace banter. Even with its legal setting, the drama brings light, relatable humor and emotional moments that reflect the real-life struggles of office workers.
With its strong premiere ratings, unique legal setting, and a cast full of chemistry, Law and the City is already gaining attention as the next must-watch drama. Viewers are excited to see where the story goes next—especially with hints of mysterious connections between the characters.
Stay tuned as Law and the City continues to build momentum in the coming weeks!
