BLACKPINK might finally be coming back — and fans are going wild with excitement!

On June 19, JTBC Enternews reported that BLACKPINK is planning a full-group comeback in early July, quoting a music industry insider. If true, this would be the group’s first comeback in nearly three years, making it one of the most highly anticipated returns in K-pop.

In response to the report, YG Entertainment gave a short statement to Newsen, saying,

“We will share details through official promotions later.”

While the agency didn’t confirm the exact comeback date, it’s clear that something big is in the works.

Earlier this month, YG did confirm that BLACKPINK had started filming a new music video on June 6. The shoot is taking place in Korea with the help of a famous overseas director, which has fans even more curious and excited.

YG teased that the upcoming video will be:

“A new iconic music video that captures BLACKPINK’s identity and musical color,”
and added,
“It’s a special collaboration that matches BLACKPINK’s status as a top global artist — so fans can definitely look forward to it.”

As of now, the title, concept, and exact release date of the new song have not been revealed.

This comeback would mark BLACKPINK’s first group release since their second full album BORN PINK in September 2022 — nearly 2 years and 8 months ago.

While the group has been on a break from group music, the members have stayed in the spotlight through powerful solo projects:

  • Jisoo made her acting debut and released her solo album ME
  • Jennie launched her own label and appeared in The Idol
  • Rosé worked on solo music and global fashion campaigns
  • Lisa debuted in Crazy Horse Paris and continues to make headlines with her solo ventures

BLACKPINK is also set to perform at the BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR DEADLINE IN GOYANG concert on July 5 and 6 at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium — right around the time the rumored comeback is expected.

With all eyes on the group and YG keeping details under wraps, fans are counting down the days to see if BLACKPINK will really return to shake up the K-pop scene once again.
