Seohyun is being praised once again for her clean image, high standards in love, and strong mindset — and fans can’t help but admire her more than ever.
The Girls’ Generation star appeared alongside fellow member Hyoyeon on the June 16 episode of the YouTube variety show Jjanhan Hyung Shin Dong Yeop. In the video titled Seo Hyun and Hyo Yeon open up in this explosive era! Burned like it’s Girls’ Generation’s last variety show and crawled back on all fours, the two opened up about their personal lives, including relationships, hardships, and how they’ve grown over the years.
Seohyun, who debuted as a teenager in 2007 with Girls’ Generation, has now spent over 18 years in the spotlight without a single scandal — a rare achievement in the entertainment industry. She proudly said, “Girls’ Generation activities were my entire 20s,” reflecting on the time she dedicated to her group and career.

Hyoyeon added, “Even though Seohyun was the youngest, I learned a lot from her. In your 20s, you usually want to date and have fun, but Seo Hyun would say, ‘I represent Girls’ Generation’s image, so I can’t act like that.’” She praised Seohyun for being extremely careful, even controlling her emotions for the sake of the group.
Seohyun admitted she avoided dating rumors during her idol years. “As the youngest member, I thought, ‘I can’t have dating rumors too,’” she said honestly.
One moment that sparked online buzz was when Seohyun once said her ideal type was “a man like me.” Some netizens jokingly said this sounded like she was never planning to marry. On the show, MC Jung Ho Cheol brought it up, and Seohyun coolly responded, “I partly agree. I believe someone like me exists.”
Seohyun has consistently expressed high standards when it comes to love. In a previous interview while promoting her film Holy Night: Demon Hunters in April, she shared, “As the person Seo Joo Hyun, living a healthy life is important. That’s how the celebrity Seo Hyun can be happy too.”

She also said, “You need a strong mind to act for a long time. I’ve worked hard to stay on my path in this tough world. Now, nothing really shakes me anymore,” showing how much she’s grown both personally and professionally.
When asked about her ideal type, she confidently said, “I have very high standards. My standards are at the top,” and added, “Because I feel I’ve lived my life well, I want to meet someone who has lived just as well.”
Currently, Seohyun is starring in the KBS2 drama I Took the Male Lead’s First Night, which premiered on June 11.
Fans continue to support Seohyun for staying true to herself, staying strong in an ever-changing industry, and proudly walking her own path — with or without love rumors.
