BLACKPINK’s Jennie just made history again — her solo album Ruby was named one of the best albums of the year by top U.S. media outlets Rolling Stone and Complex!

On June 5 (local time), Rolling Stone released its list of The Best Albums of 2025 So Far, and Jennie’s first full-length solo album Ruby earned a spot on the prestigious lineup.

The magazine praised Ruby, saying, “It reinterprets the ideas that shaped pop in the 2000s and 2010s R&B era in a fresh and interesting way.” They also drew comparisons to Rihanna’s iconic Anti album, highlighting Jennie’s ability to deliver both confident, candy-coated pop and introspective, emotional tracks.

Meanwhile, Complex also selected Ruby for its own Best Albums of 2025 list, calling the album a “new chapter” for Jennie. They said, “Jennie was able to fully show off her wide range of vocal tones in this project.”

They especially pointed out tracks like Like Jennie, calling it “perfectly crafted pop” that shows her stage presence and power, and praised ballads like Twin for showing her softer, more emotional vocals. Complex also praised her ambitious visuals, saying, “Jennie dropped seven music videos for Ruby, each with stunning production and unique style.”

What’s even more impressive is that Jennie is the only K-pop artist to appear on both Rolling Stone and Complex’s Best Albums of 2025 lists — proving her next-level star power and global impact.

Ruby features 15 tracks across multiple genres, led by the title song Like Jennie. Jennie also took part in producing the album herself, making it a true reflection of her identity and limitless musical style.

With Ruby, Jennie is not just shining solo — she’s making waves around the world.
