Cha Eun Woo made a surprise appearance at a trail running event — and even in the middle of the mountains, his visuals stole the spotlight!
On the June 7 broadcast of Run to Live, a special program created to celebrate MBN’s 30th anniversary, the cast took on their very first trail running challenge after previously completing a half marathon.
The crew gathered in Jeongseon, Gangwon Province, where team leader Sean announced, “We’re going to enter a trail running competition.” Coach Kwon Eun Joo then led them in some training, explaining, “Today’s training is in the mountains to help prepare for the trail course. We’ll only run 500 meters, so don’t worry.”
But that 500-meter relay ended up being harder than anyone expected. With steep slopes going both up and down, the members struggled with their stamina — and after finishing, they had to say an emotional goodbye to castmate Jung Ho Young.
Holding the mic, Jung Ho Young said with tears in his eyes, “Because of my work, I have to run my store by myself. I don’t have many staff, so I need to leave. I had so much fun, but I have no choice.”
The next day, around 2,300 runners gathered at Gyeongpo Beach in Gangneung for the actual trail running event. The courses included 11km, 50km, and 100km options — and the Run to Live crew took on the 11km race, which passed through the beach, wetlands, and mountain trails.
Before the run, Lee Young Pyo shared, “There are rankings from the last race. If you catch someone ahead of you, you can take their badge,” raising the tension.
As the race was about to begin, Go Han Min was seen happily reuniting with actors Lee Si Woo and Lim Se Mi. But the biggest surprise came when the camera revealed who was standing right at the front of the lead group — it was none other than Cha Eun Woo! The singer-actor, often called a “face genius,” looked stunning even in sports gear, and fans couldn’t believe he was really there.
In the preview for the next episode, Lee Jang Jun is seen spotting him mid-race and saying, “Hello, Eun Woo,” while Eun Woo is also shown confidently running through the mountains, clenching his fist toward the camera with strong determination.
