Park Bom's surprise absence at 2NE1’s U.S. show sparks confusion as fans wonder what really happened

2NE1 recently rocked the stage at Head In The Clouds LA 2025, but fans were left shocked when Park Bom didn’t show up—and things only got more confusing when she posted photos that made it seem like she was still in Los Angeles.

On June 4, Star News reported that Park Bom had actually returned to Korea in mid-May after wrapping up her personal schedule in LA. But on May 21, she posted photos captioned “Park Bom in LA,” making it seem like she was still there. The timing of the post, which came just days before the June 1 concert, caused many fans to think she had skipped the stage without warning.

The group performed with just CL, Sandara Park, and Gong Minji. After the show, all three shared photos and warm messages online. CL wrote, “Thank you LA,” Sandara added, “Thank you Los Angeles, Thank you Blackjacks,” and Minzy hyped fans up with, “Ain’t never gonna stop.”

With Park Bom missing and only three members performing, some fans worried this might signal a permanent change for the group—especially since Park Bom has faced emotional struggles in the past. But insiders quickly cleared things up, saying her absence was planned in advance due to personal reasons.

According to reports, Park Bom had informed the team earlier that she wouldn’t be able to join the performance. Because each 2NE1 member is signed to a different agency, their schedules are managed separately, especially after their recent world tour.

Her label, D-Nation Entertainment, confirmed on May 28 that she wouldn’t be attending the LA concert. “After careful discussion, it was decided she will not be on stage,” the company stated. “We ask for your kind understanding. The remaining members will still deliver a special performance to fans.”

Interestingly, back on May 24, Park Bom had posted, “On my way to a 2NE1 meeting,” leading some to believe she had met the members in the U.S. However, it was later revealed that the full group had gathered in Korea before the concert.

2NE1 wrapped up their WELCOME BACK encore concerts at Seoul’s KSPO DOME on April 12 and 13, bringing their world tour to a close in front of thousands of fans.

For now, it looks like Park Bom is still close with the members—just taking a step back from the spotlight for personal reasons.
