Actress Kim So Hyun shared a surprising and funny story about her social media habits — and fans can’t stop talking about it!
On June 2, a new video titled “This is how you really follow back the hip way — with Kim So Hyun, who follows 6,000 people” was posted on ELLE Korea’s official YouTube channel. In the video, Kim So Hyun opened up about how she used to handle social media, especially when she was younger.
The actress revealed, “In the early days of social media, a lot of people messaged me asking for advice. I’d get messages from people my age and even older. Even though I was still young, I tried my best to listen and give comforting words.”

Fans were shocked to learn that Kim So Hyun follows around 6,300 accounts on social media. She became known as a “follow-back fairy” for always following her fans. However, this kind gesture once backfired — she said her account was even suspended at one point for following too many people.
When asked if she still follows people back, she admitted, “Now I do it very carefully, one at a time,” and shared that she even checks when the first DM was sent to make sure the fan has been around for a while.

The interviewer joked, “Do you check to see if someone’s a true fan?” and Kim So Hyun laughed, saying, “I’m joking,” but added, “If I feel that the message is really sincere, I feel thankful and I follow back.”
Fans are loving how thoughtful and kind she still is.
Meanwhile, Kim So Hyun is currently starring in JTBC’s weekend drama Good Boy as Ji Han Na, a former shooting gold medalist who becomes a police officer.
From getting suspended for showing love to fans to checking each DM one by one — Kim So Hyun’s story proves she’s truly one of the most caring stars out there!
