Actor Yoo Seung Ho has been quietly doing good deeds for years, but only now are people learning about them.
On May 29, Newsen shared that Yoo Seung Ho has been donating money to help children who are sick and need medical treatment. What’s even more surprising is that he has also been volunteering alone to care for abandoned cats—without even a manager by his side.
Recently, videos of Yoo Seung Ho going to and from the stage of the play Killing Caesar showed many warm comments from fans.
One fan wrote, “My daughter is sick and was treated at the hospital. Yoo Seung Ho donated money to help us. My wife sent a thank-you letter back then, but I have always been grateful inside. I hope everything he does goes well.”
News confirmed that Yoo Seung Ho’s donations were very private—even his agency didn’t know about them. Starting as a child actor, Yoo Seung Ho is known to have a special love for children.
Right now, Yoo Seung Ho is working as an ambassador for the McDonald’s Happy Walk charity. He donated 10 million won and gave all the participation fees from the event to RMHC Korea.
This money will help build new homes in the Seoul area for seriously ill children and their families, so they can focus on treatment without worries.
Besides helping kids, Yoo Seung Ho also volunteers to care for abandoned cats. He often drives by himself to volunteer, without a manager.
On his social media, his profile says “Cat’s World Domination” with two cat emojis, showing the two abandoned cats he personally adopted.
Last August, he appeared on JTBC’s Newsroom and said, “I want to save as much money as I can through acting. I plan to open an animal shelter someday,” sharing his dream.
His agency, 333 Entertainment, said, “Yoo Seung Ho volunteers and donates regularly, but he’s shy about telling people. Usually, we only find out when fans share what they see.”
Right now, Yoo Seung Ho is performing in the play Killing Caesar at Sogang University Merry Hall Grand Theater until July 20.
The play is a new version of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, showing the political irony of Caesar’s assassination leading to a new dictator. Yoo Seung Ho plays Brutus and is praised for his powerful but detailed emotional acting.
