Kim So Hyun is finally reuniting with Park Bo Gum — 10 years after they first stood side by side as MCs.
On May 29, the press conference for JTBC’s new weekend drama Good Boy was held at The Link Seoul, Tribute Portfolio Hotel.
The event gave fans and media a closer look at the cast, including Kim So Hyun and Park Bo Gum, who star together in this highly-anticipated action-comedy series.
Good Boy tells the story of former national athletes who are specially recruited to become police officers. They trade gold medals for police badges and join forces to fight injustice in society.
Kim So Hyun plays Ji Han Na, a fierce sergeant in the violent crimes unit and a former shooting champion. Park Bo Gum plays Yoon Dong Joo, a rookie cop and ex-boxing gold medalist.
During the event, Kim So Hyun shared her feelings about working with Park Bo Gum again after a whole decade. “When we hosted an award show together 10 years ago, he took care of me so well,” she said.
“There was a serious moment we shared that people really liked, and I think that made many fans hope we’d act together one day. I also wanted that, and now we’re finally meeting as Han Na and Dong Joo. I’m really happy.”
Talking more about her co-star, she added, “Dong Joo is a kind and slightly silly character, but full of energy — like a bulldozer. I always felt that Bo Gum oppa had that charm, and I’m especially excited because this drama is a new challenge for all of us. The cast really cheered each other on during filming.”
Park Bo Gum also expressed his joy, saying, “I’m really happy we’re working together again after 10 years. I’ve seen So Hyun at events since then and always hoped we could do a drama like Good Boy together."
He added, "I’m thankful she remembered me in a good way. She fits the role of Han Na so perfectly. I hope people see a new side of her and fall in love with her charm.”
JTBC’s Good Boy premieres on May 31 at 10:40 PM KST. Don’t miss the return of this beloved duo, now showing off their acting chemistry in an exciting new story.
