BTS member RM has made history by becoming the only K-pop artist to win at the American Music Awards both as a group member and now as a solo artist.
On May 26 (local time), the American Music Awards announced that RM won Favorite K-Pop Artist for this year.
This major U.S. award show is one of the "big three" in American music, along with the Grammys and Billboard Music Awards, making RM’s win even more meaningful.
While BTS has already made their mark at the AMAs with huge wins like Artist of the Year, Favorite Pop Duo or Group, and more in 2021 and 2022, RM’s solo win proves his individual impact as an artist.
