Actress Gong Hyo Jin got real about her struggles with unexpected skin changes, and fans can’t stop talking about it.

On May 25, a video was uploaded to her YouTube channel For Now, Gong Hyo Jin. In the casual and candid video, the beloved actress took viewers step by step through her makeup routine—while also revealing some surprising personal concerns about her skin.

As she lightly applied powder across her face, Gong Hyo Jin shared, “I use powder where my hair touches my face. If you mess up, a lot comes out and it’s a waste. Once it comes out, it doesn’t go back in, so you end up using more than needed.”

She explained that she usually applies powder on the sides of her face, around her nose, eyelids, and in the middle of her face. “I try to do it very lightly, just enough so my hair doesn’t stick to my face. That makes it more comfortable,” she said.

While talking about redness-prone areas, she pointed to her cheek, the area between her eyebrows, and around her nose. “There are a lot of blood vessels near the nose, so it turns red easily. But honestly, I almost never cover it,” she said.

Then, Gong Hyo Jin opened up about a skin change that caught her off guard.

“I didn’t originally have moles here,” she said, pointing to her face. “But slightly raised moles started to appear. They spread—like pancakes spreading out. I heard that if you touch them the wrong way, they spread even more.”

She went on to explain, “At one point, they were small and I removed them with a laser. They disappeared for a bit, but they came back. And now I think they’re getting bigger. Can you see? There’s really nothing I can do.”

Fans were touched by her honesty, especially as many celebrities shy away from showing imperfections.

Gong Hyo Jin’s down-to-earth personality once again shines through—proving that even stars have skin concerns just like everyone else.
