• Kim Sae Ron’s quiet cry for help revealed in last message to friends

A private message written by Kim Sae Ron, just five months before her tragic passing, has been revealed — and it’s deeply heartbreaking.

On May 23, SBS Entertainment News reported that Kim Sae Ron was struggling with serious debt and emotional pain in the months before her death.

She had even left behind a message that seemed to express thoughts of ending her life. The message was shared around 2 a.m. on a private social media account in September last year, one that she only used to talk with close friends.

In the post, which included a selfie, Kim Sae Ron wrote, “If I die, please capture and post this message.” She mentioned celebrity friends who had helped her in tough times and added, “To those who left me during my hardest times, I hope you remember what you received from me. I won’t be in pain anymore.”

Just 10 minutes after she posted it, two close friends rushed to her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul. Thankfully, the situation was prevented from getting worse at that time. However, her message has now resurfaced, showing just how much she was suffering.

Reports say Kim Sae Ron borrowed about 100 million won each from two idol group members and one solo singer in order to survive. An acquaintance shared, “She worked non-stop — from acting coaching to part-time jobs at cafés, flower shops, and bars — but her financial situation didn’t get better.”

One representative of singer C, who helped Kim Sae Ron more than once, said, “We sent her 12 million won in late 2023 and about 8 million won again in May 2024 to her family.”

Things became even harder for her after her 2022 drunk driving accident. Her former agency, Gold Medalist, had paid around 700 million won in compensation at the time.

But after her contract ended earlier this year, the agency reportedly sent her a letter asking her to repay the full amount.

In a final attempt to reach out for help, Kim Sae Ron reportedly tried to contact fellow actor Kim Soo Hyun, who was under the same agency.

But she couldn’t get through. Her family believes that she even released a photo with Kim Soo Hyun during tvN’s Queen of Tears broadcast, starting a dating rumor herself — not for attention, but as a last effort to ask for help.

This tragic story continues to break hearts across the nation, with many calling for better mental health and financial support for young celebrities in crisis.
