BTS’s Jungkook has made big history again as a K-pop solo artist in the United States.

At the 2025 BMI Pop Awards, Jungkook’s songs “3D” and “Standing Next to You” were both named among the “Most Performed Songs of the Year.” This means his songs were played a lot on U.S. radio, TV, concerts, and digital platforms.

The BMI Pop Awards, hosted by the U.S. music rights group BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.), have honored top songs and artists since 1939.

Jungkook now has two songs on the Most Performed Songs list at the same time, showing his strong popularity as a solo artist. He also won this award for three years in a row — with “Left and Right” (with Charlie Puth) in 2023, “Seven” in 2024, and now “3D” and “Standing Next to You” in 2025.

According to Pop Core, a media outlet tracking music charts worldwide, Jungkook is now the most-awarded K-pop solo artist in BMI Pop Awards history.

He has also won big at other U.S. award shows. At the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards, Jungkook won K-pop Artist of the Year and Best Music Video for “Seven,” becoming the most-awarded solo Asian artist in that show’s history. He also became the first Asian artist to win Male Artist of the Year at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards.

In 2023, Jungkook became the first Korean solo artist to win “Song of the Summer” at the MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMA). He also won two awards at the 2023 MTV Europe Music Awards — Best Song and Best K-pop — another first for a Korean solo artist. At the 2023 Billboard Music Awards, he took home Top Global K-pop Song.

Over 2023 and 2024, Jungkook won three Billboard Music Awards, setting a new record as the K-pop solo artist with the most wins at that event.

He also ranked #1 on Billboard’s 2024 K-pop Artist 100 and was named one of Billboard’s Greatest Pop Stars of 2023.

His songs “3D” and “Standing Next to You” both reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and his song “Seven” even hit #1. This made Jungkook the first Korean solo artist to have three songs in the Top 5 of the Hot 100 — a huge milestone.

Jungkook continues to break records and prove his power as a global solo artist.

It’s official—actor Kim Jae Won is joining Yumi’s Cells 3 as the male lead!

On May 19, media outlet OSEN shared that Kim Jae Won has been cast as Shin Soon Rok, the final love interest of Yumi in the upcoming season of Yumi’s Cells. The new season will once again be led by Kim Go Eun, who will return as Yumi after three years.

Yumi’s Cells Season 3 is a TVING original series based on the popular webtoon, and it follows Yumi’s emotional journey through love, growth, and healing—with the help of the tiny "cells" inside her head that represent her feelings.

In the new season, Yumi comes back as a successful writer, and her cells are still going strong, supporting her through yet another chapter in her love life.

What’s exciting this time is the appearance of Shin Soon Rok, a character that fans of the original webtoon have been waiting for. Viewers are curious to see how Kim Jae Won will bring this beloved character to life.

Kim Jae Won first entered the entertainment scene as a model in 2018 and made his acting debut in 2021.

He has appeared in dramas like Our Blues, “Stealer: The Treasure Keeper,” “King the Land,” “Hierarchy,” and most recently “The Tale of Lady Ok” and “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call.”

In “The Tale of Lady Ok,” he played Sung Do Gyeom and gained attention for his acting. In “The Trauma Code,” he showed a different side by playing Seo Dong Ju.

He’s also currently working on Netflix’s “Lady Dua” and a drama called “Eun Joong and Sang Yeon,” proving just how in-demand he is right now.
