• Actor Ryu Deok Hwan says he used to dance with G-Dragon at YG but quit because of this surprising reason

On the May 13 episode of SBS's Whenever Possible, actor Ryu Deok Hwan surprised everyone by revealing his hidden past as a dancer—and even a YG Entertainment trainee with none other than BIGBANG’s G-Dragon!

Ryu appeared on the show alongside actress Lee Jung Eun. During the episode, Lee Jung Eun shared that she’s been dancing to K-pop to help prevent dementia.

She said, “I recently learned the dance to ‘Like Jennie.’ My knees hurt and I’m not good at it, but I try really hard.”

Hearing that, host Yoo Jae Suk asked Ryu Deok Hwan if he dances too. To everyone’s surprise, Ryu replied, “I used to be a B-boy. I even did Little H.O.T. with G-Dragon. We performed together and joined YG Entertainment as trainees.”

This unexpected story shocked the cast. Yoo Jae Suk then asked why Ryu didn’t continue down the idol path.

Ryu explained, “At the time, I was filming Country Diaries. I played Kim Soo Mi’s grandson, so I chose to focus on acting instead.”

He also joked about his current dance skills, saying, “Now my joints are stiff. I danced in front of my wife a few times, and she told me not to do it in public,” making everyone laugh.

That’s when Yoo Jae Suk and Yoo Yeon Seok realized something else surprising—Ryu is married! He confirmed it, saying, “We don’t have kids yet. It’s been three years. We had a quiet wedding during COVID.”

From YG trainee days with G-Dragon to being told by his wife to avoid dancing, Ryu Deok Hwan’s story had everyone both impressed and laughing.

  • Jannabi's Choi Jung Hoon writes heartfelt letter to aespa's Karina after 4-hour recording session for their collab

Jannabi recently shared behind-the-scenes stories about their new music, including their collaboration with aespa’s Karina.

On May 13, the band appeared as guests on the SBS Power FM 'Escape from Two O'Clock Cultwo Show' where Choi Jung Hoon and Kim Do Hyung opened up about their latest work.

Jannabi released their highly anticipated fourth full album Sound of Music pt.1 on April 28, and the title track "In the Name of Love!" featuring Karina quickly captured attention.

Choi Jung Hoon explained that the inspiration for the song came from his love for anime, particularly Sailor Moon.

He shared a humorous story, saying, "I came up with the title first, and in Sailor Moon, there's a line that says, 'In the name of justice, I won't forgive you.' But I mistakenly thought it said, 'In the name of love,'" which made everyone laugh during the interview.

When asked about his personal connection with Karina, Choi Jung Hoon revealed, “The song had a bright, mysterious feeling, and I wanted to make sure listeners felt the same emotion we had while making it.”

He also shared that he felt Karina was the perfect fit for the song, saying, "There’s a word ‘truth’ in the lyrics, and I thought if I sang it, it might sound too heavy. I wanted someone to bring brightness to it, and Karina immediately came to mind."

Choi Jung Hoon further explained, "The moment she sang that part in the recording studio, I knew the song was complete. I was so moved, I wrote her a letter."

Kim Do Hyung also spoke about the recording process, sharing, "It took about 3-4 hours, but Karina didn’t get tired at all. Her passion really impressed us."

Their collaboration is already making waves, and fans are excited to see what Jannabi and Karina bring next!
