Actor Kim Soo Hyun is fighting back against serious and harmful rumors made by Garo Sero Research Institute (also known as Gaseyeon), which claimed he had an inappropriate relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron when she was in middle school.

On May 7, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency Gold Medalist released an official statement, denying all the claims made during a press conference held by Gaseyeon.

The agency said, “Gaseyeon claimed that Kim Soo Hyun had a sexual relationship with Kim Sae Ron when she was in 8th grade and used an audio recording as so-called ‘evidence’. But that audio is completely fake. We confirmed that the file was made using AI or similar technology.”

They added that the person who gave the audio file to Gaseyeon, referred to as the "audio source", also contacted them with another supposed recording, claiming Kim Sae Ron had spoken positively about Kim Soo Hyun.

But according to the agency, “This person is a scammer. They asked us for money and even sent part of the recording. But the voice in the file was edited to sound like Kim Sae Ron. We didn’t give in to their demands”.

Gold Medalist also said they are working with technical experts to analyze the audio and will share the results soon.

As for the “attack photo” that Gaseyeon showed during their press conference, the agency firmly denied its authenticity. “That photo is fake and easy to find on the internet. Gaseyeon and the audio source just picked a random picture online and pretended it was real,” they said.

The agency strongly condemned Gaseyeon’s actions, calling the press conference another attempt to damage Kim Soo Hyun’s reputation. “They are already facing legal issues for spreading lies, stalking, cyber sex crimes, and faking evidence."

The agency added, "We are now filing more legal complaints against them for breaking the anti-stalking law, defamation, and online crimes. We will cooperate fully with the investigation and make sure Gaseyeon is punished according to the law”.
