• Seo Kang Joon Said He’d Take the Staff on Vacation if ‘Undercover High School’ Hits 12%—Now It’s Closer Than Ever, Will He Keep His Word?

MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama Undercover High School is heating up, and Seo Kang Joon might soon have to keep his bold promise!

The actor casually bet on a 12% viewership milestone, but with ratings skyrocketing, fans are wondering—will he really take the staff on a dream trip?

According to Nielsen Korea on March 2, Episode 4 of Undercover High School, which aired the previous night, recorded an impressive 8.3% in viewership ratings.

The drama started strong at 5.6% last month, held steady at 6.6% for Episodes 2 and 3, and then made a huge jump with Episode 4.

Undercover High School follows Jeong Hae Seong (played by Seo Kang Joon), an NIS agent who goes undercover as a high school student to track down Emperor Gojong’s missing gold bars.

The latest episode saw a huge boost thanks to his intense fight against school bullies and his growing connection with Oh Soo Ah (played by Jin Ki Joo).

Seo Kang Joon’s solo performance is keeping viewers hooked. After enlisting in November 2021 and being discharged in May 2023, this drama marks his grand return to TV after nearly three years—his last project being Disney+’s Grid, which aired while he was still in service. Fans are loving his upgraded visuals, flawless action scenes, and emotional acting.

At 31 (born in 1993), Seo Kang Joon is once again rocking a school uniform, and there’s zero awkwardness! Whether he’s the perfect high schooler in class or the fierce undercover agent in all-black during missions, he’s nailing every look.

His post-military glow-up has netizens raving, with some saying, “Forget the plot—Seo Kang Joon’s face is the real main event!”

Episode 4 delivered everything fans love—action, comedy, and heart-fluttering moments. Hae Seong took down school bullies, joined the student council to help his mission, and even performed a surprise dance on stage.

Oh Soo Ah visiting his house led to a hilarious hide-and-seek moment with his NIS teammates after he missed school for reservist training. It’s no wonder ratings are climbing fast!

With Undercover High School gaining momentum, that 12% goal is looking more realistic by the day. And what about Seo Kang Joon’s promise?

Last month, he appeared on the JjanHangBro YouTube channel, where he confidently declared, “If we hit 12%, I’ll take the whole staff on an overseas trip—my treat. But honestly, if the drama succeeds, it’s worth every penny.”

He doubled down on his words at the press conference, joking, “I don’t know if I said that while drinking, but it’s out there now. I can’t take it back. If we hit 12%, we have to go!”

A staff vacation paid for by Seo Kang Joon? At this rate, it might actually happen sooner than anyone expected!
