BTS leader RM (Kim Namjoon) just gave fans a big update about his military life, and ARMYs couldn’t be prouder!

On February 1, RM greeted fans on Weverse for the Lunar New Year, joking about his age. “I don’t know what I did, but I’m already 32 in Korean age. I keep insisting that I’m 30 in international age, but realizing that makes me feel like I’ve truly become an ahjussi,” he said, making fans laugh.

But the biggest surprise came when RM revealed that he had been promoted to sergeant! “I, Kim Namjoon, have finally been promoted to sergeant,” he announced. He also revealed that V, Jimin, and Jungkook all received early promotions as well. “Since everyone was promoted early, all four of us should be sergeants now,” he shared.

RM reflected on his journey in the military, saying, “It feels rewarding, but they say military life really begins now. Still, I’m happy that the next rank is civilian.” He also looked back on 2024, calling it an overwhelming year full of memories, both good and bad.

The BTS leader also talked about his admiration for Jin and J-Hope, the two members who have already completed their service. “Seeing them adjusting well and cheering us on makes me feel both envious and relieved. Civilians are the best,” he said honestly.

RM reassured fans that he’s doing well, spending time working out, playing instruments, studying, and preparing for his return. “I hope everyone stays healthy. I’m managing somehow, so don’t worry too much,” he said.

Meanwhile, BTS members are continuing their military service. Suga is set to complete his duty as a public service worker on June 21, while RM and V will be discharged on June 10, followed by Jimin and Jungkook on June 11.
