NewJeans' hit song "Ditto" has been selected as one of the "Best Songs of the 2020s So Far" by Paste, a popular U.S. music magazine. The magazine recently revealed its list of "The 100 Best Songs of the 2020s So Far," and "Ditto," from NewJeans' OMG single album, secured the No. 23 spot. This makes "Ditto" the only K-pop track featured on the list, alongside big names like Billie Eilish, SZA, Fiona Apple, and The 1975.

Paste had high praise for NewJeans, stating, "When we think about K-pop in the 2020s, no group has risen as fast as NewJeans. 'Ditto' is a standout song." They added, "NewJeans steps away from flashy EDM and the sweet, over-the-top style of K-pop, bringing a more elegant and groovy sound. 'Ditto' really shows how the group is creating a new style and capturing attention with their star power."

"Ditto," which came out on December 19, 2022, has a warm melody that highlights the group's soothing vocals. The track helped NewJeans make their debut on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Singles Top 100 just six months after their debut. In South Korea, "Ditto" achieved huge success, topping Melon's daily chart for 99 days straight and the weekly chart for 14 weeks. It even ranked No. 1 on Melon's 2023 annual chart.

Just last month, Paste also named NewJeans' second EP, Get Up, as No. 52 on its "The 100 Greatest EPs of All Time" list. The magazine praised the EP, saying, "This six-track record offers a sophisticated blend of R&B and club vibes, a sound not often heard in K-pop."

They also mentioned how Get Up helped NewJeans reach new milestones, including topping the Billboard 200. With the EP, NewJeans became the fastest K-pop group to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and their songs "Super Shy," "ETA," and "Cool With You" all entered the Hot 100 chart at the same time.
