BTS's Jimin is making waves with his song "Lie," which has officially surpassed 250 million streams on Spotify as of October 10. This achievement highlights the song's incredible popularity on the world's largest music platform.
"Lie" is Jimin's first solo song, featured on BTS's second studio album, Wings, released back in 2016. Earlier this year, it made history by becoming the first track, other than the title song "Blood Sweat & Tears," to hit 200 million streams. This milestone earned Jimin a spot as the 53rd member of the BTS 200 Million Streaming Club.
The song's success is also notable in the U.S., where it crossed 100 million on-demand streams in January 2022.
This made it the first solo song by a BTS member to achieve this feat. Additionally, in February 2022, Jimin’s other solo track "Serendipity (Full Length)" sold over 500,000 units in the U.S., making him the first Korean idol with two solo songs certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Jimin, who helped write and compose "Lie," has been praised by American media as the only solo song by a boy group member on the list of "13 K-Pop Tracks Only the Original Artists Can Deliver." His musical talent and captivating stage presence in "Lie" have inspired many music professionals, junior idols, and dancers, earning it the title of "K-Pop's Masterpiece."
Currently, Jimin has three solo tracks from BTS albums that have all surpassed 250 million streams: "Lie" (250 million), "Serendipity" (2.88 million), and "Filter" (457 million). On October 10, he achieved a remarkable milestone as his total Spotify streams surpassed 5 billion.
With this achievement, Jimin has become the eighth most-streamed Korean artist on the platform, with his solo songs making up 4 billion streams. This makes him the Korean solo artist with the highest number of solo song streams!
