BTS’s V recently showed his admiration for Korean author Han Kang, who made history by becoming the first Korean to win the Nobel Prize in Literature.

On October 10, V took to Instagram to share his thoughts. He posted an article about Han Kang’s big win and added a message, saying, "Author! The Boy Is Coming. I read it in the military. Congratulations." This was V’s heartfelt way of celebrating the author’s achievement.

On the same day, the Swedish Academy announced Han Kang as the Nobel Prize winner. The Academy praised her work for “revealing the fragility of human life while facing historical trauma with poetic prose.” They specifically mentioned The Boy Is Coming, the novel V read, as one of the standout pieces that led to her selection. This novel, published in 2014, is about the May 18 Gwangju Uprising and its tragic events.

V’s brief but emotional comment, "흑" (a sound expressing grief), shows just how much the story moved him. It reflects the deep sorrow and heartbreak the novel expresses as it tells the story of a young student, Dong-ho, who loses his friend to martial law troops and later faces his own tragic fate.

V’s genuine reaction to the novel’s ending really highlights the impact of Han Kang’s writing. It’s clear that The Boy Is Coming left a lasting impression on him during his military service.

Recently, V was also spotted at the 'Romantic Music Festival' on October 9 at Kangwon National University, where he attended as a soldier along with students and musicians. Fans loved seeing him in this new role, and he was praised for his participation in the event.

Han Kang’s Nobel Prize win is a huge moment for Korean literature, and V’s personal message made it even more special.
