BTS's V has made waves again with his solo album Layover, recently earning a Platinum certification from the Japan Record Association.

On October 10, the association announced that V's first solo album, released in September last year, has now sold over 250,000 copies, securing the Gold Disc Platinum certification. This is a major achievement for V, as Layover is his first album to receive this honor.

The Japan Record Association grants Gold Disc certifications based on the total number of albums and singles shipped. They award Gold for over 100,000 copies, Platinum for over 250,000 copies, and continue with Double Platinum (over 500,000), Triple Platinum (over 750,000), and Million (over 1,000,000).

Layover has also been doing well on the charts, topping the Oricon Daily Album Ranking as of September 30. Upon its release, the album debuted at number one on this chart. Plus, the title track "Slow Dancing" hit number one on the Daily Digital Single Ranking, making V the first artist to top both the album and digital charts at the same time.

In reflecting on this accomplishment, V expressed his gratitude towards his fans, acknowledging that their support has been crucial in achieving this milestone.

He shared, "It means so much to me that so many people are connecting with my music. I want to keep creating songs that resonate with everyone." V’s passion for music shines through as he looks forward to continuing his journey as a solo artist, motivated by the love from his fans.
