
NiziU is making waves with their latest release, 'RISE UP,' as they clinch the top spot on the Oricon Weekly Album Ranking! Dropped on July 24, NiziU's first Japanese EP 'RISE UP' scored a whopping 197,000 points, securing the number one position for the week of August 5 (2024.07.22~07.28).
This marks NiziU's third consecutive album to achieve this milestone, following their first studio album 'U' in November 2021 and their second studio album 'COCONUT' in July 2023.
Breaking their own records, 'RISE UP' boasts the highest first-week album sales for a female artist in 2024, surpassing the 179,000 copies set by 'U.' They also dominated the Billboard Japan Weekly Album Chart 'Top Album Sales' (2024.07.22~07.28) with 276,780 sales, reaffirming their massive popularity.

This EP showcases a 'new NiziU,' with the title tracks 'RISE UP' and 'BELIEVE' serving as the opening and ending themes for the anime 'Tower of God: Return of the Prince.' The EP highlights the nine members' captivating vocals and powerful presence.
The music video for 'RISE UP,' pre-released on July 13, marks NiziU's first venture into a darker concept, offering fans a fresh and innovative visual treat. With all-black styling and stunning performances, the video features vibrant CGI effects set against iconic Tokyo locations like Shibuya and Shinjuku, as well as an airfield in Ibaraki Prefecture.
On July 20, NiziU dropped a performance video for 'RISE UP' on their official YouTube channel. They've showcased the song on Japan's renowned music program TV Asahi 'Music Station,' at local music festivals, and even premiered the Korean version of 'RISE UP' on MBC's 2024 mid-year special 'Show! Music Core in JAPAN' on July 17, receiving enthusiastic responses.
NiziU also created special memories with their fans at their first fan meeting, 'NiziU Fan Meeting with U 2024 Nizi"U"niversity,' held on July 27 and 28 at Osaka-jo Hall in Osaka.
