BTS member Jin wasted no time diving into his active schedule following his military discharge.
Today, on the 13th, he’s set to meet fans at the ‘2024 Festa’ event, celebrating BTS’s remarkable 11th debut anniversary.
Jin personally organized a special hug event to express his gratitude to fans who patiently awaited his return.

However, there was some controversy surrounding the application process for this heartwarming gesture.
In response, Jin addressed the issue during a live broadcast on the fan communication platform Weverse on the 12th, right after his discharge.
He explained, “Initially, I wanted to hold a free hug event outdoors for a month.” But practical concerns about crowding led to a change of plans. Instead, they decided to hug the lucky winners—reducing the participant count from an initial 3000 to 1000.
Jin sincerely apologized, saying, “My intention was to embrace all the fans who waited for me. I hope you understand.”
In the second part of the event, Jin will engage with 4000 fans, continuing the celebration.
Meanwhile, Jin successfully completed his 1 year and 6 months of military service and was discharged as scheduled.
As the first BTS member to fulfill his military duty, his discharge ceremony drew attention. RM, J-Hope, Jimin, Jungkook, and V (excluding Suga) all joined in celebrating the return of the eldest member.
Reflecting on his discharge, Jin shared, “After 1 year and 6 months, I’m back. I was overjoyed and even shed tears twice. As a soldier, I used to tell my juniors, ‘Never cry. If you do, I’ll cry too.’ But when my friends, whom I spent 1 year 4 months and 1 year 6 months with, bid me farewell, I couldn’t hold back the tears.”
He added, “I had an incredible time during those 1 year and 6 months, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have met such wonderful people.”
