• "Lovely Runner" Byeon Woo Seok Climbs the Music Charts, Competing with aespa and NewJeans

Byeon Woo Seok is making a big splash on the music charts, even after "Lovely Runner" has ended.

The song "Shower" by Eclipse, featured in the OST of tvN's drama "Lovely Runner," soared to 3rd place on Melon's domestic music chart as of midnight on June 8. By 6 PM on the same day, it held 4th place.

Eclipse is the band that Ryu Seon-jae (played by Byeon Woo Seok) is part of in the drama. "Shower" is a song his character writes, inspired by his first love, Im Sol (played by Kim Hye Yoon). Byeon Woo Seok's singing showcases his diverse talents.

Thanks to the drama's popularity, "Shower" has steadily climbed the music charts, competing with hits from top idols like aespa and NewJeans.

Despite the ongoing comebacks of these major idols, "Shower" remains a strong contender.

"Shower" also made an impressive entry at 199th place on the Billboard Global 200 chart, announced by Billboard on June 4. This is a rare feat for a domestic drama OST.

In a recent interview after "Lovely Runner" ended, Byeon Woo Seok shared, "I saw it at 5th place recently. It's unbelievable to be ranked among such amazing artists. I'm very happy with where it is now, and I don't aspire for it to be number one."

Byeon Woo Seok, who has always wanted to sing the OST for a drama he's in, said, "Recording was a lot of fun, and it's great to see people enjoying it. Besides Eclipse's songs, I also listen to the theme songs while recalling the emotions of each scene. I particularly like Minnie’s ‘Like a Dream’ that plays when Sol and Seon-jae's emotions intensify. But ultimately, ‘Shower’ remains my favorite (laughs).”

Other OST tracks from "Lovely Runner" are also popular on the music charts. As of 6 PM on the 8th, N.Flying's Yoo Hoe-seung’s "I Guess So" is at 44th place, 10CM’s "Spring Snow" at 47th, Eclipse's "Run Run" at 61st, and (G)I-DLE Minnie’s "Like a Dream" at 98th, showing the overall success of the drama's OST.

  • Chun Jung Myung’s Manager Now Serving Time After Stealing Billions, Source Reveals

Actor Chun Jung Myung has opened up about a devastating betrayal by his former manager, who swindled tens of billions of won from his family. The former manager, who had been trusted like family, is now serving prison time for his actions.

In the December 8 episode of SBS’s My Little Old Boy, Chun Jung Myung shared the shocking details of his financial fraud ordeal with fellow cast members Lee Sang Min and Kim Heechul.

He explained, "I was financially defrauded by the manager I had worked with for 16 years since my debut. He forged documents to steal money and even caused huge financial losses for my parents."

A close source confirmed on December 9, "The manager mentioned on the show ultimately couldn’t repay the damages and is now serving his prison sentence for fraud."

The source also revealed that Chun Jung Myung suffered losses in the tens of billions of won. The emotional toll was severe, leading to social anxiety, and he even considered retiring from the entertainment industry due to the devastating betrayal.

Chun Jung Myung debuted in 1999 with the drama School 2 and became a household name with roles in Beijing, My Love, Fashion 70s, and What's Up Fox? However, after his role in the 2019 drama Urban Cops: KCSI, he suddenly disappeared from the spotlight, sparking concerns from fans.

An entertainment agency CEO weighed in, saying, "Celebrities, especially those with limited real-world experience, are vulnerable to scams because of their public status. Some get trapped and lose vast amounts of money after being used as figureheads."

An entertainment law expert added, "Fraud cases are tricky because proving the intent to steal is difficult. If someone makes an enticing offer, always ask, ‘Why me and not them?’ Skepticism is key."
