  • Park Bo Gum secretly covered up a filming mistake to protect the staff, and fans are loving his kind heart once again

Another story proving Park Bo Gum’s sweet personality is warming hearts online.

On April 19, a behind-the-scenes story about the actor was shared by a space designer (called Mr. A) who worked on the Netflix drama When Life Gives You Tangerines. The video was uploaded to their YouTube channel, and it revealed how Park Bo Gum once helped hide a staff member’s mistake without anyone knowing.

Mr. A explained that while filming a scene involving Park Bo Gum’s character, Yang Gwan Shik, they accidentally left their iPad in the shot. Since the drama is a historical one, modern devices like an iPad shouldn’t be seen in any scene.

"Everything was so busy that day," Mr. A said. "I left my iPad next to Gwan Shik's jar without noticing, and we filmed like that. Even the director didn’t catch it and gave the OK."

But it was Park Bo Gum who noticed—and instead of pointing fingers, he quietly saved the moment.

"Gwan Shik suddenly told the director, 'I think my acting was a bit awkward, can we check the monitor one more time?'" Mr. A shared. "He said that just to protect me. He made it look like it was about his acting, not the iPad."

After the scene was checked and the mistake was caught, Park Bo Gum returned the iPad with a smile and said, "No one noticed, don’t worry," while giving a wink.

"Take responsibility for this, Park Bo Gum!" Mr. A joked, adding that three members of the art team saw everything and were touched by his kind gesture. "Two were men, and one of them was me. We still talk about it to this day."

When Life Gives You Tangerines follows the love story of Ae Sun, a bold girl from Jeju, and Gwan Shik, a man who stays loyal to her through all four seasons of life. Because it's set in the past, the appearance of an iPad would have been a big mistake—but thanks to Park Bo Gum, it never became an issue.

Fans are once again praising the actor for his humility and warm heart. Staff who worked on the drama have shared many similar stories, saying he was kind to everyone, both on and off the camera.
