During a birthday live broadcast with fans on April 6, the idol cleared the air regarding the hot dog incident that occurred back in March.
The incident took place when Mingyu, along with Seungkwan and Joshua, attended a soccer match between South Korea and Uruguay.
Fans who were present at the game took to social media to share their experience and reported that Mingyu had eaten two hot dogs.
However, during the live broadcast, Mingyu clarified the rumors by admitting that he only had one hot dog and that he had eaten a variety of other foods such as chicken skewers, shrimp skewers, pizza, and fried chicken bites.

But you guys should know that I didn't eat that much food, even though it seems like I did. I ate about the right amount. I swear, I didn't eat two hot dogs. I ate only one hot dog… I ate one hot dog, then a chicken skewer, a shrimp skewer, pizza, and bite-sized pieces of fried chicken. But I ate a little bit of this and that here and there, so to say that 'all I did was eat' is an exaggeration. Do you guys get what I'm saying?".
