• Ahn Hyo Seop And Kim Se Jeong Were Praised By The Writers Of 'Business Proposal'

Writers Han Seol Hee and Hong Hong Hee revealed the unique charm of the drama 'Business Proposal', which was added to the original webtoon-web novel.

SBS Monday-Tuesday drama 'Business Proposal' (directed by Park Seon-ho, written by Han Seol-hee, Hong Kong-hee, planned, and produced by Kakao Entertainment/produced by Cross Pictures) received attention even before its broadcast since it is based on a webtoon and web novel with the same name serialized on Kakao Page. The production team directed and adapted the original story to fit the drama, creating a delightful color unique to 'Business Proposal'. In particular, the comical episodes and humorous lines brought joy to the viewers. In this regard, Han Seol Hee and Hong Hong Hee, who wrote 'Business Proposal', talked about the drama viewing points.

Writers Han Seol Hee and Hong Hong Hee are writers with experience in writing the comic office series 'Young-ae's Ridiculous' series and sitcoms ('All My Love' Han Seol-hee, 'High Kick, Counterattack of Short Legs' Hong Hong-hee). The comical settings that take advantage of the writer's strengths add to the charm of the drama 'Business Proposal."

First, the two writers talked about the strength of the original 'Business Proposal', saying, "The strength of the original is that it solves situations that you would not dare to try in a drama in a fun way. The female protagonist who crosses the main character and the secondary character meets and falls in love as a substitute against the company president, the male protagonist, and seeing the original story, I found this story that we were unable to challenge to be very attractive. There was pressure to dramatize a popular original, but it was rewarding to work.”

Then, regarding the charm point of the drama that is different from the original, "I think it is the 'chemistry' of the actors who see the added characters and live-action. I think the drama 'Business Proposal' is filled with the actors' chemistry. And I wonder if the charm of our drama is the pleasant and cute situations that writers who are a little more confident in comedy put together.”

In fact, in 'Business Proposal', the characters around the main characters' families and workplaces were added in a more friendly setting to fill the drama richly, and the scenes where the main characters meet stood out with the tiki-taka lines and the comical setting. The chase scene between Kang Tae Moo (Ahn Hyo Seop) and Shin Ha Ri (Kim Se Jeong) at work, and the scene where Shin Ha Ri rejected Kang Tae Moo's proposal, saying, "I hate it because you resemble an Archeopteryx," brought laughter to the viewers. As the romance of the main characters develops in the future, anticipation for the upcoming episodes will be added.

The two writers also shared their impressions of working with the actors. “Actors Ahn Hyo Seop and Kim Se Jeong thought a lot about their roles and constantly asked questions. Everyone was so active and showed a great interest in the drama, so I felt grateful. Also, Kim Min Gyu and Seol In Ah, who shine even more when they are together, we're a couple we were looking forward to, even for us who wrote the script.

Actor Kim Hyun Sook, who is related to 'Mr. Miss Young-ae', was actually recommended by director Park Seon Ho.

The two writers expressed their affection, saying, "I was very grateful for your willingness to respond."

Finally, the two writers chose “Kemi-dish, laughter, and visual” as the point to watch for the drama Business Proposal'.

“You must order a lot of delivery food in the current COVID-19 situations. I hope that you enjoy it as if you had our 'Male Match' delivered at home every Monday and Tuesday without any pressure. It's not a grand narrative or a drama with great emotion, but I hope viewers will laugh after watching the drama, thinking, 'It was a drama that made me happy for an hour." the writers added.

  • NewJeans Minji writes touching letter on her birthday during activity halt: “We didn’t stop and we won’t stop”

NewJeans' Minji touched fans' hearts with a handwritten letter on her birthday — even while the group is currently unable to promote due to legal issues.

On May 7, Minji celebrated her birthday by sharing a heartfelt message on the group’s personal SNS account, which the members opened themselves to stay connected with fans.

Minji began her letter with honesty, writing, “I think I’m living a busier life than I expected. When I finally looked up, it was already May, and it was my birthday.”

She admitted that she had a lot she wanted to say, but her thoughts felt “messy.” Still, her message to fans was clear, “I just hope that I, our members, and Bunnies can all be happy. Happiness is the biggest goal in my life.”

Minji then opened up about her personal journey and struggles, saying, “I sometimes think that running toward my happiness by doing what I love might look foolish to others. But isn’t giving up your happiness now for the sake of a future that might not even come… too harsh on yourself?”

Despite everything, she ended on a hopeful note, “I really miss the times when we shared our feelings through the good music we made together. But I always look forward to what’s ahead."

She added, "We didn’t stop here, and we’re not going to stop! It might look like we’re standing still, but I believe we’re growing deeper.”

Her message comes during a difficult time for NewJeans. The group announced last year that they were cutting ties with ADOR, their original agency, after trust was broken. They later began working independently under the new name ‘NJZ’.

However, ADOR responded with legal action — claiming the exclusive contract with NewJeans was still valid and asking the court to stop the group from promoting or signing deals.

The court sided with ADOR and granted an injunction, forcing NewJeans to pause their activities. Their appeal was rejected, and they’ve now filed a second appeal.

Through it all, Minji’s message proves one thing — even when forced to stop, NewJeans' hearts are still moving forward.
