• Song Joong Ki And Song Hye Kyo's Newlywed House Reportedly Completed Its Demolition + Land Price Rises About 54%

The demolition of the house in Itaewon-dong, Yongsan-gu, purchased by Song Joong Ki before divorce with Song Hye Kyo, was completed on February 8th.

According to Biz Korea on February 17th, the scheduled completion date of the demolition was originally June last year, but it was reportedly completed on February 8, 2022, about 8 months later.

This house is known as the newlyweds of Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo. This is because Song Joong Ki, who purchased the house for 10 billion won in November 2016, announced that he would marry Song Hye Kyo a year later.

Later, Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo, who married on October 31, 2017, divorced on July 22, 2019. Perhaps because of the divorce issue, Song Joong Ki has been undergoing reconstruction for more than a year even after obtaining permission for construction on November 16, 2018.

As the construction period continued for one year and five months even after the reconstruction began, nearby residents publicly protested to Song Joong Ki, saying they could not ignore the noise and safety issues of the construction.

In addition, Song Joong Ki arbitrarily adjusted the road slope when the height of the house parking lot and the road did not match, sparking controversy. Critics pointed out that the flat road was sloped sharply to match the parking lot access road. In the end, the Yongsan-gu Office sent official letters of corrective action twice for violating Article 75 of the Road Act.

Nevertheless, the official land price of the house has risen compared to before. According to Biz Korea, the official land price of the land in November 2016, when Song Joong Ki purchased the demolished house, was 3,917,537.60 USD, but as of 2021, it rose about 54.6% to 6,057,115.83 USD.

Meanwhile, on July 22, 2019, the Seoul Family Court established divorce mediation between Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo, and both of them are continuing their personal activities after divorce.
